FINAL CENTNER THOUGHTSOPINIONFEATUREDANANDA M.

I’ve been at Centner Academy for the last six years of my life. From starting at the school during an uncertain time in the pandemic, to finishing middle school, to starting high school and going through a really hard period of my life, the Centner Community has been through it all with me. If you knew me in sixth grade, you would know that I wasn’t necessarily “normal.” Still I was accepted into the school community and always felt that I was included in everything. Honestly seventh grade was kind of a blur for me, but eighth grade was one of the most memorable school years I have had up to now. From going to Boston, and becoming close to my now best friend, to going to gradventure with a really amazing group of people, it all couldn’t have been possible without the Centner Academy teachers, staff, parents, and community.

Truly, nothing compares to these last two years of high school. Even though my freshman year was filled with challenges, I was always able to find light in the darkest of times when I was at school and surrounded with the people I loved. From going to Universal studios to learn about physics, to an unforgettable journey in Puerto Rico, it was an incredible year. Now with my sophomore year coming to a close, I can’t help but reflect on the amazing moments I’ve experienced. We started the year strong with a trip to New York City, where we strengthened our class bond. Later we were able to cap off the year with a camping trip, closing it out just as strong as we began.

Recently, I learned about the “Butterfly Effect”, which says that even small actions or events can cause huge, unexpected changes in our lives. Thinking back, I realize that if I hadn’t started at Centner Academy, I might never have met some of the most important people in my life. My closest friends, my best friend, and the teachers who have truly changed the course of my life. It’s crazy to think that something as small as choosing a new and upcoming school during the pandemic has shaped who I am today.

Throughout my time at this school, there has never been a moment where I’ve felt alone. From the unwavering support I received from my teachers, both emotionally and academically, to the incredible friendships I’ve formed, I can’t imagine a better place to have spent these past six years. High school is known for being a challenge, but I can confidently say these past two years have been nothing short of amazing. I have made incredible bounds with teachers that I didn’t even know could exist, I gained a friend group that I couldn’t trade for anything, and I have been excelling academically regardless of the hardships in my life. Centner Academy has given me so much more than just an education; it provided incredible opportunities for my own personal growth. From co-founding my own school club and raising thousands of dollars, to unforgettable trips where I’ve made memories that will last a lifetime, I don’t know any other school that is so deeply rooted with their students and making sure they have the best experience possible while at the school.

As I get ready to move on to a new school next year, I know that the memories, lessons, and relationships I’ve built at Centner Academy will always stay with me. This place has been more than just a school, it’s been a family that has shaped who I am in ways I never could have imagined. I’m so grateful for the teachers who believed in me, the friends who stood by me, and the experiences that have shaped my character and outlook on life. Even though I’m stepping into a new chapter, a part of me will always be here, and I’ll carry the love and lessons from Centner Academy wherever I go. Thank you for everything.
